Refund Policy
We want you to learn quantum computing with confidence. Paid plans carry a 14-day money-back guarantee, and unused hardware credits are refundable on the same terms. This page explains exactly how refunds work, how to request one, and the rights you keep no matter what.

In summary
- Plans: every paid plan is a one-time lifetime purchase with a full refund inside 14 days of purchase.
- Hardware credits: unused credit purchases are refundable within 14 days. Credits already spent on completed jobs are not.
- Provider failures: if a job fails due to a hardware-provider error, the credits spent on it are refunded to your ledger automatically.
- How to ask: message us via /contact or deesha.tech with your account email and the purchase.
- Timing: refunds return to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Plan purchases
All paid plans — currently Advanced ($99 one-time) and Quantum Engineer ($149 one-time) — are one-time, lifetime purchases. There is no recurring subscription to cancel, and nothing renews automatically.
If a paid plan isn't right for you, request a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date and we'll return the entire amount. Level 1 (Quantum Foundations) is free forever and needs no refund.
All payments are processed by Stripe, and refunds are issued back to the same card or payment method you originally used.
Hardware credits
Running circuits on real quantum hardware (such as IBM or IonQ) is pay-per-use. You prepay for hardware credits, which are tracked as integer millicredits in your account ledger and spent as each job runs.
- Unused credits are refundable — a credit purchase you haven't spent can be refunded within 14 days of buying it.
- Spent credits are not. Credits consumed by a completed hardware job are non-refundable, because the provider has already executed that work.
- Provider failures are on us. If a job fails due to a provider error (an outage, hardware fault, or provider-side rejection — not an error in your circuit), the credits spent on that job are automatically refunded to your ledger. You don't need to ask.
Your current credit balance is always visible in your account, as the sum of purchases minus jobs executed.
How to request a refund
Send us a message through our contact page (choose the Billing category), or reach the team via deesha.tech.
Please include:
- the account email the purchase is tied to;
- the plan or credit purchase you'd like refunded (and the approximate date, if you have it);
- a line or two on the reason — this is optional, but it helps us fix problems faster.
We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 1–2 business days.
Processing time
Once a refund is approved, the amount is returned to your original payment method via Stripe. Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Hardware-credit refunds for provider failures are returned to your ledger immediately and are available to spend on your next job.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly and a direct refund is faster than a bank dispute.
Filing a chargeback without first contacting us, or repeated chargebacks that we believe are abusive or fraudulent, may result in account suspension while we investigate. This is a last resort and we will always try to resolve the matter directly with you first.
Your consumer rights
Quantum Academy is built and operated by DeeSha, a technology consulting firm based in Adelaide, Australia, and these terms are governed by the laws of Australia (South Australia).
Nothing in this policy limits any right you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other non-excludable consumer-protection law that applies to you. Where the law gives you a guarantee or remedy that cannot be excluded, this policy does not affect it — and, where the law allows us to limit our liability for a breach of such a guarantee, our liability is limited (at our option) to resupplying the service or refunding the amount you paid.
Legacy subscriptions
Current plans are one-time lifetime purchases, not subscriptions. If you hold an older recurring subscription from an earlier version of Quantum Academy and want to cancel it or discuss a refund, please contact us with your account email and we'll sort it out.
