Getting started

Is Level 1 really free?

Yes — Quantum Foundations (Level 1) is free forever, with no credit card and no time limit. You get the full lessons, the in-browser simulator, and the circuit builder. We only charge for the higher levels, which are one-time lifetime purchases.

Do I need to know advanced math or physics?

Some familiarity with linear algebra (vectors, matrices) helps, but we build the intuition from scratch. Lessons lean on visuals and interactive widgets first, then add the notation. Plenty of working developers and curious learners start with no quantum background.

Who is this for?

Students, software developers, researchers, and the simply curious. If you want to understand quantum computing by actually building and running circuits — not just reading about it — you're in the right place.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in your browser — lessons, the circuit builder, and the simulator. There is nothing to download, install, or configure to get started.

Learning

How are lessons structured?

Each lesson is a mix of bite-sized theory, interactive widgets you can poke at, and short exercises that check your understanding. You build and run real circuits as you go, so concepts stick through practice rather than memorisation.

Is there an AI tutor?

Yes. The AI tutor is included with the paid plans and can explain concepts, walk you through a tricky step, or unblock you on an exercise. It's there to help you learn, not to hand you answers.

Can I earn a certificate?

Yes — complete a course and you receive a completion certificate. It signals that you finished the material and the exercises; it is not a formal academic accreditation or a professional license.

Technical

How big a circuit can I simulate?

The in-browser statevector simulator handles up to about 20 qubits; on the server it reaches about 22 qubits. For larger Clifford-only circuits, the stabilizer simulator scales up to 100 qubits. Performance depends on your machine and the circuit depth.

What real hardware can I use?

Pay-per-use access to real quantum hardware from providers such as IBM and IonQ is available when those providers are configured. Hardware availability, queue times, and supported gate sets vary by provider and device.

Is my code private?

Your circuits and code are yours. Note that when you submit a job to real quantum hardware, the circuit is sent to the third-party hardware provider so they can execute it — that's inherent to running on their devices.

Can I export my circuits?

Yes. You can import and export circuits in OpenQASM, Qiskit, and Cirq formats, so you can move work between Quantum Academy and other toolchains.

Billing

Is it a subscription or a one-time purchase?

Plans are one-time lifetime purchases — you pay once and keep access. There is no recurring charge, no annual renewal, and no auto-billing. Level 1 remains free forever.

What about refunds?

Every paid plan comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If it is not for you, contact us within 14 days and we will refund you. Full details are on our refund policy page.

What are hardware credits?

Hardware access runs on prepaid credits, accounted in integer millicredits. You buy credits up front and they are spent per job you submit to real hardware. Jobs that fail due to a hardware-provider error are refunded automatically — but jobs that fail because of an error in your own circuit are not. Credits are separate from plan purchases; see our refund policy for the details.

Can I use it for a class or a team?

Yes — we work with universities, labs, and teams. Get in touch and we can talk through group access, invoicing, and onboarding.

Account

How do I sign in?

Use the Sign in link at the top of any page, or head straight to the platform to sign in or create an account. Level 1 is free, so you can start without a card.

How do I delete my account?

Send us a message through the contact page and we will close your account and remove your data. We will confirm once it is done — we never just silently drop a request.

Still have questions?

We read every message and usually reply within 1–2 business days. You can also reach the team via deesha.tech.
