Learn quantum computing by doing

Quantum Academy exists for one reason: to make quantum computing intuitive. We do it by letting people learn the field hands-on — in the browser, on real machines — instead of only reading about it.

Our mission

Quantum computing is one of the most fascinating frontiers in technology — and for a long time it has been locked behind dense mathematics, expensive lab access, and tooling that assumes you already know everything. We want to change that.

Our mission is to make quantum computing intuitive by letting people learn it hands-on. Build a circuit, watch the statevector evolve, send it to a real quantum processor, and read the result back — all from a browser tab. The fastest way to understand a qubit is to push one around yourself.

We believe curiosity should be the only barrier to entry. That is why Level 1 — Quantum Foundations — is free forever, with no credit card, and why everything is built to run on an ordinary laptop.

The platform

Quantum Academy is a complete learning environment, not just a course catalogue. Here is what is actually inside:

Interactive lessons

Theory and runnable examples woven together — read a concept, then operate on it immediately. No switching between a textbook and a terminal.

Visual circuit builder

Drag gates onto a wire, watch amplitudes and probabilities update live, and reason about your circuit visually before you ever write a line of code.

In-browser simulators

A statevector engine (up to 20 qubits in the browser, 22 on the server) and a stabilizer engine (up to 100 qubits, Clifford-only) — the same code runs identically in your browser and on the server, with identical seeded results.

Quantum code IDE

A full editor when you are ready to move past drag-and-drop — write, run, and iterate on real quantum programs without leaving the page.

AI tutor

Stuck on a concept or a circuit? Ask in plain language and get an explanation tuned to the lesson you are on, right where you are working.

Real quantum hardware

Pay-per-use access to genuine quantum processors from providers such as IBM and IonQ. Prepaid credits, spent per job — the same machines researchers use.

Finish a course and earn a completion certificate you can verify and share. The whole thing is one-time lifetime pricing on plans — no recurring subscription — and runs on Cloudflare Workers, Neon PostgreSQL, and better-auth under the hood.

Why quantum, why now

For decades quantum computing lived mostly in theory and in a handful of research labs. That is changing fast. Real, programmable quantum processors are now available through the cloud from multiple providers, and the field is moving from whiteboards into the hands of anyone willing to learn.

The problem is that the on-ramp is still steep. Documentation is fragmented, simulators are inconsistent, and the gap between "I read about Grover's algorithm" and "I ran Grover's algorithm on a real device" is enormous. We exist to lower that barrier — so more people, from more backgrounds, can participate in shaping where this technology goes.

We are also clear-eyed about the present. Today's hardware is noisy, limited in qubit count, and far from the dramatic applications that get the headlines. That is exactly why learning the fundamentals now matters: the people who understand this stuff deeply will be the ones ready when the machines mature.

How we teach

Learning by doing. Every concept comes with something you can run. You do not just read that a Hadamard gate creates superposition — you apply one and watch the probabilities split.

Browser-first. The simulator runs in your tab, with zero install, so you can experiment freely and instantly. When you are ready, the same circuit can be sent to real hardware for a job.

Honest about the limits. No hype. We show you the noise, the shot counts, and the constraints of today's devices, because understanding those limits is part of understanding quantum computing.

About DeeSha

Quantum Academy is built and operated by DeeSha — a technology consulting firm founded in 2019 by Deepak Battini in Adelaide, Australia. The firm helps businesses improve the systems behind their work through practical consulting, workflow automation, and custom software delivery, serving clients across four continents.

DeeSha is a practice shaped by building real products — 11 of them and counting. Quantum Academy is one of those products: a learning platform engineered with the same care and rigour that goes into client work, because we believe education software should be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.

What we value

Honesty over hype

No fake success states, no overblown hardware claims. We tell you what today's machines can and can't do, and we surface errors honestly rather than hiding them behind a cheerful message.

Accessible by default

It runs in a browser on an ordinary laptop, and Level 1 (Quantum Foundations) is free forever with no card required. The barrier to starting should be curiosity, not a credit card.

Real hardware, not toys

Pay-per-use access to genuine quantum processors from providers such as IBM and IonQ, prepaid in integer credits and spent per job — so you can run on the same machines researchers use.

Careful pedagogy

Concepts build in a deliberate order, every example is runnable, and the same engine that powers your browser tab powers the server — so what you see locally is what actually happens.
